Sporty Chic
One of my favorite trends of the year is surprisingly not twirl-worthy or tulle related, it doesn’t require sky high heels and often looks best with second day hair… any guesses? Okay, I’ll tell you… it’s Sporty Chic!
In case you couldn’t tell, I am kind of a girly girl. I rarely wear pants (skirts are way more fun) and have a serious lipstick obsession so was kind of skeptical about giving up my girly ways to try the sporty trend when it first came on scene last Spring. That lasted for about 3 whole seconds, and then I became determined to tackle the trend with my own colorful, girly spin with ruby red and a little bow action.
After trying and testing the sporty trend all spring long, I began to really like this trendy alter ego that began to emerge … let’s call Sporty Courty 🙂 . Luckily, this trend is here to stay for a bit and is getting a serious fall make over with the introduction of varsity jackets with knee high boots and oversized coats worn with stylish sneakers. To make this trend Courtney friendly for fall, I paired it with ripped boyfriend jeans and a cool graphic tee. I bundled up in a varsity bomber and hid my bad hairday with a red felt cap. To complete the look I kept the pop’s of red going with a ruby woo red lip and matching bow pumps for a little feminine touch!
