Red,
Red Fall Coat
When Fall finally arrives, so many are quick to bundle up in Black… but not me 😉 Today I’m staying true to my name and cozing up in the cutest oversized Fall coat that just happens to come in one of my favorite colors – ruby red.
I’ve been searching for the perfect red coat for a few years with no success, but I have been pretty picky. It had to be crazy warm, come in Ruby Woo Red (to match my favorite lip color of course) and have really awesome pockets… Oh yeahhhh, if you didn’t know this yet, I have a thing for pockets! Most importantly, I needed a shape that was kind of oversized, and downtown-cool. I knew having a big bright coat would be enough of a statement and didn’t wanna over-do-it with something too fussy, I wanted to keep it simple yet chic!
This Yoana Baraschi coat fit the bill! Not only did it check all of my boxes, but it added a new down-town vibe to my wardrobe. It’s no secret that I am more of a tulle and polka dots kind of girl, but I sometimes like to switch things up by channeling a cooler alter ego (since we all know I’m the furthest thing from cool in real life). This oversized red coat lets me do just that by pairing it with a little bit of leather or distressed boyfriend jeans!
I really love the new dimension this coat brings to my wardrobe, and as a little added bonus it’s so crazy versatile. It’s only been mine for a week and I’ve already rocked it twice in two totally different ways… I see a serious coat friendship in our future. For the first look, I added some edge to this old graphic sweater and really played up the black & red combo. A leather skirt, leopard belt and black chelsea booties with a little bit of a heel were the finishing touch to walking the line between flirty & edgy.

The second look is for colder weather and could even carry through to brighten up a winter day. I layered the coat with a crazy cozy plaid blanket scarf (see how I rocked it for a warmer day here), a blue waffle-knit sweater, ripped boyfriend jeans and leopard pumps (the perfect pair for all day wear), just to keep things interesting 😉 . The one thing that remained consistent with both looks aside from my new downtown girl attitude and my new favorite coat? My ruby woo red lip of course!
