Pattern Party
Pattern mixing can be a wee bit tricky, but theres one combo that will never, ever let you down while wandering into the woods to print pairing and pattern party – Stripes + Floral.
Black & white stripes and multi-colored floral almost always look so good together! The simplicity of the stripes is the perfect bestie of a flirty, louder print like floral plus the juxtaposition of all of the colors against basic B&W work together seamlessly!
Since I’m kind of bananas for pattern play, I even added another print to the mix by layering leopard over it all with my favorite clutch! I totally consider leopard a neutral, so I thought why not add it to the mix? It probably made the outfit a little overboard, but I totally don’t mind it. I actually often layer leopard as my third & final print for a look. The stripes shirts & floral skirt combo are your go-to for print mixing, but I didn’t have a bright floral midi to make this look work – so instead I made one! I tucked the top of this dress (see it as a dress here) into the bottom half of the dress before zipping it up as much as I could and stepping into it as a skirt! I love this trick and use it often to expand my wardrobe… and it totally fools everyone, no one ever suspects its a anything but skirt 😉
