A few weeks ago I got to visit the Color Factory – a really cool immersive pop up that has finally made its way to NYC.
If you’re not familiar, the Color Factory is created by Jordan Ferney, the babe behind the blog Oh Happy Day. About a year ago she created the pop up in San Francisco and not to be dramatic, but it kind of changed the world. Ever since other pop ups have been sprinkling cities, but none are quite like this.
Paris and I talk about pop ups quite often, in fact I was in the processes of developing one earlier this year before they started to take over. Our agreed upon belief is that yes, a pop up is great but what does it mean, what does it teach you. The museum of ice cream is great because its fun, you get to eat and you learn something – for instance I learned that the ice cream scoop was intend by an African American named Alfred L. Cralle right after the civil war. I’ll be honest I always have fun and take great pictures at a pop up, but I’m rarely impressed by them. I usually leave with a lot of feedback or thoughts about ways they could improve… but not at the color factory. I had no notes! I loved every inch and can’t to share some of the highlights with you here!
You’ll leave learning more about color and a little bit about yourself. There are lost of fun treats, interactive room and unique surprises along the way. Bring your cameras, but there are also some great photo stations with built in camera moments so all you have to do is say cheese! I wont give too much else away, because I want YOU to go experience it for yourself. SHOP THE LOOK:
