Plaid in Central Park
Tops Knots & Blanket Scarves are besties, so it’s only natural I keep them together… besties should always stay close!I warned you in the last post that come Winter I go mad for plaid, and today I’m putting my money where my tartan is and doubling up on plaid for a day in Central Park.Central Park is pretty pretty this time of year, especially if you have a thing for dead trees, which I totally do! Bare trees with only a few straggling leafs are kind of one of my favorite things in winter (second only to snow and right in front of outdoor iceskating… more on that later this week). For this look, a double dose of plaid was totally necessary. I layered my boyfriend’s buffalo plaid popover (why yes, I did wear the same shirt two days in one weekend… thank you for noticing 😉 ) under a baby blue sweater before layering a black puffer vest over both pieces and finishing with a blanket scarf. I had my heart set on adding a bow and a bun to this look, but haven’t dabbled in the top knot since chopping off my hair at Rizza Salon so I used this bow (a vintage bowtie I borrowed from my frenchie, Waffles) and 27 bobby pins to help secure my topknot… It’s not perfect but we’re getting there – tutorial coming soon!Scarf (also here) || Jeans || Sweater || Plaid Shirt || Vest || Sunnies || Booties || Bag || Lips
