Entertainment,
Best TV Shows to Binge Watch on Hulu
Hey Cuties!!!Similar Sweaters: ONE || TWO || THREE || FOUR ||FIVE
I know we’re all spending more time on our sofas than usual, so I’m excited to share a list of the best TV shows to binge on Hulu!!! We’ve had Hulu for as long as I can remember and pay the big bucks for the LIVE tv add on that lets us watch shows as they air, worth every penny. If you don’t opt for the live, you’ll still be able to watch 90% of these options the day after they air. I broke them up into categories and gave mini-reviews for most! So sit back and enjoy 105+ shows to watch on Hulu, and 10 to skip!
First up, it’s my best to binge list! It a mix of current & old shows and my top picks to binge on the app!
BEST TO BINGE
RAMY (2019)
Master of none, but make it Egyptian-American. This follows First-Generation-American, Ramy and his politically divided New Jersey life. It’s one of the best shows I’ve watched in a while, a little dirty but full of diversity & will totally change your perspective. There is only one season right now but more to come so it’s definitely worth the watch!
Okay, maybe I should have put this in the “good but dark” category BUT, it is one of the best shows on TV right now so I moved it up here to the top. GUYS if you can handle a psychopath serial killer show that might get you nightmares WATCH IT! Villanelle may be my favorite TV character ever, and this show is up there with Dexter for me for my fav favs. But again, lots of murder so you’ve been warned!
RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE & DRAG RACE ALL STARS (2011)
I feel silly putting this on here, BUT LIKE please watch it. Toss it in the background, just pay attention at the end of each episode OR watch it uninterrupted with hyper focus – both work so enjoy the ride of your life. There is nothing like it on TV and it is an absolute GIFT. I’m super jealous of anyone who’s never watched an episode.
STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL (2015)
I just discovered this one when Disney+ launched. It was a show my brother had been wanting me to watch before he passed, and he was right. I did love it! I wish i took the time to watch it when he was around so I could chat with him about it. It’s anime adjacent and SO GOOD, it has a storyline stronger than I’ve ever seen in an animated show that carries through all 4 seasons and I love how it ends! Just watch it and thank me later.
I watched this for the first time ever 2 years ago and I loved it! Is Jaleel White the greatest actor of all time? Yeah, maybe. The last season gets a little iffy and I don’t love the ending, but I watch this show on replay all the time.
FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL (2019)
This is a Hulu original produced by Mindy Kaling, and I think you’ll love it. Paris and I had a blast watching it although we absolutely hated all of the characters in it, they just aren’t good people lol. BUT STILL a fun watch, basically a romantic comedy turned into a TV series.
One of my favorites to watch & rewatch in the background. The first 2-3 seasons are better but the show isn’t so serious that you can jump around if you’d like. I love Mindy so I’ll watch anything she makes.
This show is currently on the air but I’m not sure when the next season will return. It’s one of the best shows on right now and does a deep dive into the drama behind big finance in NYC. You can only watch this if you have the Showtime add on, but it’s worth the watch.
WEEKLY FIX
Here are the shows i’m watching weekly, some are in the first season and others might be on their last
ZOOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST (2020)
WATCH THIS SHOW JUST TRUST ME! It’s my current fav on TV, it’s the most wonderful musical mashup of storytelling, entertainment & heart-wrenching stories. WATCH IT WATCH IT WATCH IT! You’ll love it, or else you’re dead to me. (kidding … kind of.)
SCHITT’S CREEK *ONLY WITH LIVE TV ADD ON* (2015)
This show is in its 6th and final season right now so there are a ton of episodes! TBH it isn’t super funny when you watch it but it gets funnier after, especially if you spend ALL your time quoting it like Paris and I do. Plus, I think it’s better to watch in a group!
THE BOLD TYPE (2017)
This isn’t anything revolutionary, just a group of three twenty-somethings in new york trying to figure things out. I like that it takes place in the fashion and magazine world, and find it a fun and breezy watch. BUT, they do tackle big topics like infidelity & women’s health.
MASKED SINGER (2019)
I don’t ever watch singing shows but We’re obsessed with this show! we love the mystery of trying to figure out which celebrities are under each mask. I do think its better the binge, but there are 2 full seasons for you and they have a current season we’re watching weekly too
Another show with a ton of seasons- I started it as a background binge and quickly fell in love with this 90’s tale of a first-generation Asian-American family trying to find their way in Orlando. It’s only 30 mins and a super light watch but I think that you’ll love it.

OLD FAVS
Back in their day, these shows were the ones I looked forward to most for whatever reason, all for totally different but all worth a watch.
BEING ERICA (2009)
THE GOOD WIFE (2009)
PARENTHOOD (2010)
REVENGE (2011)
WHITE COLLAR (2009)
Others to consider
FOSSE/VERDON (2019)
8 part limited series based on the life of Bob Fosse (spoiler alert, he’s not a great guy) & his wife – played by Michelle Williams.
A show Paris watches without me, but he loves it!!! I’ve watched a few episodes and really enjoyed it even out of context. Even if you’re not up for the whole series watch the “alligator man” (S2, E1).
This one just ended! It starts out great & then gets a little blah in the middle but only when you’re watching week to week, I think it’s much better to binge. Any trip to sleepy town is worth hanging in there for because the last 3 episodes are amazing and round things out pretty perfectly, enjoy the journey and know the destination is amazing.
For all your 90s time capsule dreams. Enjoy the monotone look into a dark teen soul.
SNL’s Aidy Bryant wrote / stars in this super honest show! It really displays everything we hate about millennials (yep, I’m a millennial) & all we fear about insecurities while facing failure straight on.
AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL (2011)
I love watching and rewatching this on the regular but please note it doesn’t age well! The way the approach race, weight & even gender gets pretty appalling at times.

GOOD BUT DARK
I love dark shows, but Paris doesn’t especially right now, so we’ve been staying clear of these! If you’re triggered easily, you might want to avoid them!
THE ACT (2019) Anthology series of a stranger-than-fiction true-crime series.
9-1-1 (2018) Follows first responders who encounter all kinds of crazy things.
9-1-1 LONE STAR (2020) 9-1-1 but make it Texas, also some 9/11 talk here.
NIP/TUCK (2003) One of my favs but it’s creepy and uneasy for no reason … maybe that is why I like it.
UNITED STATES OF TARA (2009) OH SOO GOOD but deals with mental health and illness.
UNREAL (2015) the dark side of dating shows, I really loved this one but things get dark quick.
SCREAM QUEENS (2015) not really dark, dark but serial killers & sorority girls … yikes.
DEXTER (2006) *Only with the showtime add on* ONE OF MY FAVS EVERY but again, serial killers & lots of anxiety. Paris had to quit watching this show halfway through but I’ll love it forever.
CLAWS (2017) Gang violence & lots of drug craziness, with a little sprinkle of nail art?
TWISTED (2013) again not that dark and made for teens! It got canceled too soon but could be triggering for some.
DIETLAND (2018) I was really into this show but it got weird quick. There are some sexual assault scenes and a lot of toxic masculinity. It deals with everything from rape culture to body image so I think some will find it really triggering.
SHOWS I QUIT (OR PAUSED) & WHY:
I don’t usually quit a show, so when I do I usually have a good reason. I do sometimes pause a show I intend to finish one day but am not yet up for it, for whatever reason.
HANDMAID’S TALE (2017)
I know everyone talks about this show, but here’s the T. It’s dark for no reason, it’s sleepy and it’s depressing. I feel like people are just in it for the shock factor, but really it’s a snooze fest. I suffered through 2 seasons but am not going back for more. BYEEE
HOMELAND (2011)
We loved this show until we didn’t. It spent the first few seasons focusing on what we called the “brody” storyline and we liked it, but couldn’t hang for any of the other storylines. Also, there is only so much Claire Danes stress face we could take
FARGO (2014)
Every season here has its own story and although we loved the first season, season 2 went in a new direction we couldn’t hang for. Some find the opposite effect, not liking season 1 but only liking season 2, so if the first season isn’t for you skip to the second and give it a try.
THIS IS US (2016)
I know everyone and their mother loves this show but I found it boringly predictable, maybe I just watch too much tv? It felt like it was trying too hard and always getting overpraised by everyone with a pulse. I was never looking forward to watching it and finally hit pause after season 2. Maybe one day I’ll revisit it, but probably not for a while.
PRISON BREAK (2005)
This one started out great! We watched it for the first time 4 years ago, but every season is basically a replay of the previous one. (spoiler alert) they get out of one prison only to end up in another, and another, and another. Snooze. We quit before the reboot but did enjoy it when both actors made an appearance together on THE FLASH.
GOOD GIRLS (2018)
Again, things went downhill into season 3. I never really love loved Good Girls, to begin with, but I would watch it in the background. Now I’m really over it.
THE AFFAIR (2014) *ONLY WITH SHOWTIME ADD ON*
I was OBSESSED with this show early on, I loved how it showed the same story from different perspectives and things like clothing or dialog would change based on the person’s POV. so smart! But the telling of every story 4 ways got old fast. I would totally recommend the first 2 seasons tho!
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS (2018)
The same story as This is Us, I think it was even written by the same people so that makes sense. Also, a story about what happens after someone else commits suicide filled with a second-tier affair and cancer storyline is just not fun to watch. I didn’t get anything out of it and found it pretty predictable.
CHICAGO MED (2015)
I’ve tried so hard to get into the Chicago series (MED, PD, FIRE) but MED was the only one that stuck. Even here I was over it about 4 seasons in, it’s just another medical drama without any specific niche and that no one really needs.
ON MY WATCH LIST
Here are some other ones that are on my radar but I haven’t got around to watching yet!
