I share a lot of outfits and why certain pieces work together, but we rarely tackle feel! So today I wanted to dive into the fabric choices we make with our clothes, and why I like to choose cotton! this post is published in partnership with cotton
Cotton is the MVP of all fabric choices because of its feel, but the fibers that make up this magic fabric also can have a positive impact on your everyday life. So today I’ll talk through a day in my life with cotton and how this fabric choice improves my everyday routine.

WAKE UP READY – Not only do I love sleeping with cotton sheets and a cotton down comforter, but I also use a cotton bandana to wrap my hair at night when sleep in bed— it’s more structured than silk & it doesn’t move. I used to sleep in silk ones and they would always move around at night, so I would wake up to find it on the other side of my bed. Wrapping my hair saves me time in the morning & helps me get ready in 15 min or less. To wrap – I fold the cotton bandana into a triangle, lay it behind my neck & knot it on my forehead. I pull the bandana upward and the structured cotton make up helps it stay up. jogger sweat pants || Duvet Cover || hoodie || Bandanas
SMELL LESS – When I’m planning on sweating with a workout or just heading out into the heat, I reach for cotton clothes! Cotton washes cleaner and holds less odor. Cotton clothes are also breathable, so I find myself sweating less through this super-fabric.crop top || similar biker shorts
BE COMFY – Cotton clothes & underwear hold less moisture! As you guys know if you’ve read my period posts, I used to suffer from lots of UTI and yeast infections, so much so that I became resistant to the medication and had to explore other options. One preventative method was to choose cotton underwear options to avoid potential yeast infections. This also works just for outerwear clothes, since they too hold less moisture and wash better. My cotton clothing always outlasts my other fabric options. Plus, I’m more comfortable, clean & confident in cotton clothes!

GET CLEAN – After I take off my cotton clothes for the day, the fabric obsession continues into my nightly shower. Cotton towels are crazy absorbent for after your shower, but if you’re a curly girl (or struggle with frizz) switch out terrycloth for an old cotton t-shirt to prevent breakage, keep curls intact & fight off frizz. This switch will make a serious change in your curls! Promise!!!

SLEEP BETTER – After I shower and get clean with cotton, I dive into my cotton sheets for a better night’s sleep. Research has proven that since cotton allows your skin to breathe & doesn’t trap heat, cotton users get a better night’s sleep! So try switching out your bedding for something that’s 100% cotton and see how much better you sleep!!!
