Act Your Age – How to Wear Overalls as an Adult
Some trends come and some trends go, and others that we’re all the rage in pre-k somehow make a comeback later on in life!
Today we’re talking all about one of these resurrected styles that you maybe haven’t rocked since your day included recess and nap time! I’m obvi referencing the every trendy overalls!
I’m all about adult overalls, but they can be tricky to try, so today I’m sharing my tips and tricks for rocking this trend for Spring & Summer, without looking like you’re underaged!
1 – Grow Up:
Who doesn’t want to be ten feet fall? well I’m only 5 foot, so when it comes to wearing overalls I’ll take all the height I can get! High heels can really help… like a lot! They have to be my best tip for rocking overalls without looking like a pre-teen! I’ll be honest, I don’t always wear heels with my overalls, most of the time I rock them with converse or keds but when I want to take them to the next level, the first top is heels!
2 – Show Some Skin
You don’t have to totally strip down, but since overalls are going to keep you pretty covered you might want to show a little skins to act your age! Ripped overalls, a crop top or an off the shoulder shirt will all do wonders for making you look age appropriate! If you really want over achieve, try rocking all three of these skin showing techniques like I did in this look!
3 – Create a shape
Its’ no secret that I have an hourglass figure #loveyourcurves but that’s not necessarily the best body shape for overalls! Since overalls kind of create a boxy body shape, I tie a shirt around my waist to define my smallest point and keep things from being toddleresque!
And that’s it! Rocking overalls out of pre-K and into adulthood is as easy as 1-2-3! I hope you give one of my favorite trends a whirl this season, they’ve been on trend for going on two years now so I’m not sure how much longer we’ll get to indulge in this style!Top || Bag (also here) || Shoes || Sunnies
